The History of Physics 101

To the tune of "The Battle Hymn of the Republic"

It used to be that atoms were just tiny little balls
They made up everything that was from rocks to waterfalls
They sat around forever, couldn't break apart at all
As physics marches on!

CHORUS
Einstein, Rutherford and Newton
Einstein, Rutherford and Newton
Einstein, Rutherford and Newton
As physics marches on!

The nucleus has neutrons, also protons, if you care
Encircled by electrons in their orbits where they lair
But quantum theory states they're only probably there
As physics marches on!

CHORUS

Now quarks are getting stranger and they have their ups and downs
To look the same sometimes they have to spin two times around
But they are where the flavor of the truth is to be found
As physics marches on!
